I really should know this... but I'm wondering how to do these 2 things in Vegas 6...

Freeze the clip
Play a clip backwards

to freeze the clip, put the curser on the timeline where you would want it to freeze, split the clip (s), then go down on the bottom right screen in the preview box and push the save button (the floppy disk thing), then insert the picture in between where you split the clip.

to play the clip backwards right click on the clip and hit reverse.... you may have to do it for audio too

i dont use vegas, but this is how u do it in premiere, maybe its similar in vegas. you can export a single frame, so when i freeze frame, i just export and import taht one frame, and stretch it along the timeline. to play backwards you go to playspeed and you can inverse it.

to freeze the clip dynamically, right click and add a time envelope. You can then right click on the line and add points. Then you can drag them to different play speeds. So if you set it to 0% that will freeze it.
