Capture Card Database - 05-05-2006, 04:23 PM
ok, i have decided to make a database of capture cards, since i have seen alot of questions asking on what capture card and how to get them to work... so ill explain capture cards and other Usefull Stuff for capturing...
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN EXTERNAL AND INTERNAL CAPTURE CARDS External Capture Card Most people use this kind of capture card. You dont have to put anything in your computer, most likely just put in a cd and install the software and drivers for this. It is hooked up to the computer through a USB (universal serial bus) port, and sometimes through a fire wire (1394) port. External cards are good for people who are afraid of screwing up their computer or just want to set it up easily. Many external capture cards can get great quality. External is a good capture card to get if it is your 1st. PIC OF EXTERNAL CAPTURE CARD Internal Capture Card Internal Capture cards are usually used by more advanced users and people who have had an external capture card before. To install an internal capture card you have to open up your computer and usually put it in a PCI (Peripeheral Component Interconnect) slot. This type of capture card usually gets better quality than an external capture card gets. They are usually not that expensive and are great for people who know what they are doing. Internal Capture Cards are very convenient too, because you dont have to worry about stepping on your capture card (like my bro did to mine....). This is a great choice. For the Dazzle 90, the hook up isn't stressful, but the cord is short causing you to have your computer close to your television.
Thanks for all of this, could have used this earlier. Lol

And good thread, except for the 'capture resolution'... almost/if not all...capture cards are going to have an option where you can choose your video screen size/resolution.
