Weird problem with Dazzle 90... - 11-13-2005, 08:16 PM

OK well I returned that crap I got from Walmart and bought a Dazzle 90. Well I got home and hooked everything up and recorded my very first game I played and messed around with Pennacle to get the hang of editing and this is what I got: http://files.filefront.com/Testwmv/;.../fileinfo.html Yeah I know the quality is crap but I didn't mess with any of the settings because it was a test.

But now here is the problem. Every time I try to capture something now it will record for 1:30 - 3:00 minutes and the COMPLETELY freeze my computer. I mean my power button won't even work so I have to unplug my computer from the wall. I've tried everything I can image. Anyone have any ideas or input?

My best guess would be that your computer just isnt fast enough to handle all the video, and freezes. A friend of mine runs his stuff from a laptop and it freezes from time to time, but not really consistently. Whats your system specs?? I might be able to help, I used the same thing.

AMD Athalon 2200+ 1.79 GHz, 736 MB of RAM. Running windows XP. I even tried recording without sounds and it got to about 8 minutes then froze up again. What I don't understand is how it worked fine the first time but hasn't worked since then.

I tried uninstalling all the programs and drivers and reinstalling them and it still didn't work. The only thing I can possibly thing is maybe my hard drive just doesn't read/write fast enough to keep up with the video or maybe possibly something with my video card...

I have problems with Pinacle Stuido 9 too...except that instead of freezing the whole computer, when ever I finish capturing, the program itself will just freeze up and close down. It sucks...and that's why I have to use shiiiity Windows Movie Maker to capture...

I deleted Pinnacle, its really glitchy and has lots of lag!!! I also have to use movie maker, I really am thinking of buying (or getting it some way else ) Adobe premier.
