Capturing from Component Cables (HD)? - 09-10-2006, 12:20 PM
A few months ago I got an HDTV and I was loving it, but it created some problems with capturing that I simply ignored. I stopped capturing for a long time, months and months, because I'd rather play in HD than capture. Lately, however, I got my capturing addiction back and I've been playing without HD. I'd like to be able to do both, hopefully you guys can help.
I have the OG Xbox and (I think) I have to run component cables to the TV to get an HD signal. The capture card I use is by ADS technologies and has RCA or S-Video inputs with a USB output to my computer. I'm currently using a splitter for the RCA's to share the signal. Is there any way to convert the Component signal into either RCA or S-Video? If I have to get a new capcard to fix this I'll probably just skip it, I was just hoping there might be like a $10 converter I could find somewhere... |

He's got an adapter.. he's just trying to capture w/ HD quality by using component cables (red, green, blue). Turns out the guy with the kickass quality test (transimitable) didn't even use component cables.. for some reason he got near HD quality w/ his composite cables (yellow). If you're able to snag a DVD recorder that doesn't have delay then that would be golden to cap in HD. I've been meaning to try to split off component cables so I could record onto DVD HD and play in HD.. but I've been to lazy to attempt.
