sum1 help the noob

Can sum1 plz just tell me how to slow and speed up clips in vegas. I was told just to drag the side of the clip but that just extends it and shows more of the footage.

hold ctr+ then drag I think

yeah its either hold Shift or Ctrl and then drag it
