Does Length of the Cord Diminish that Quality? - 10-17-2006, 06:27 PM

OK heres my deal this time.

I split my XBOX Signal like THG does with three basic audio splitters 1 female to 2 females.

HOWEVER! My computer is across the room from my tv/xbox so I use 6 foot composite (red, white, and yellow) cables to plug back into my TV and over to my Cap card...

does the fact that thye're each 6 ft long diminish the quality? BY diminish the quality I mean how come there are black and white faded lines slowly going up my tv/ati tv ?? Also, i have a really bad echo.

Is this the wiring setup?

PLz help <3

length of cord matters for analog signals, since they degrade proportionally with distance, but it shouldn't really matter that much. you have splitters for video and audio? the problem that i would GUESS, is because the signal is being split, but it isn't getting amplified again. when you split a signal, you will guaranteed lose quality, unless your able to pump up the signal again. since xbox doesn't output digital signals anyways, its a moot point.

i own a dazzle 150, so i dont really have any problems with this. radio shack sells boxes that simulataneously split and amplify/reenhance the signal, but it costs about 40-50 bucks. i figured it wasn't worth the money, so i just got a dazzle 150 instead. really unworth it considering i built something similar to what radio shack was selling in an ece lab...
