If you don't wish to go with a cap card you could always use a dvd recorder and then rip the footage off of the dvd. A really popular and great cap card is the Ati TV Wonder Pro. I own the USB (external) version myself and have had not one problem with it. Im sure there are some great deals out there for one.

Sorry, I'm in a rush and cant post links right now.

But get the ATI TV Wonder Pro. Its an internal capture card tha provides excellent clarity and quality. Easy to install and set up.

They make an external USB version also (as TDM mentioned) that works just as well also.

Send a message via AIM to QUINN Send a message via MSN to QUINN
Go to Best Buy and get an ATI TV Wonder Pro $60.00 then you will need to get 2 AV wires, and 3 Phono Y splitters.

They have Internal Capture cards, and External like the darkmarket uses

Don't get a happuage (I have one, it came with my computer). They are great as a TV tuner and capping to make DVD's. But they do not work nearly as well as the ATI when it comes to making internet ready videos (because many Hauppage cards do not have de-interlacing algorithms which is important for viewing on a computer).

When you get your ATI be sure to check out THG's tutorial:

I use a Dazzle 150 <USB connected device>. You should look for a tuner that does hardware encoding, as simultaneous capture + compression is pretty stressful on your cpu. i've heard good things about the tv wonder pro. i'm pretty sure hauppage's are pretty good, but i think the ones that are good are fairly expensive ($110+). i'm not sure about the part about de-interlacing, as those algorithims are software based, so i'm sure that using a different program to capture would take care of that issue.

note: most dvds are deinterlaced video, hence progressive scan. interlaced dvds haven't been in use for a long time now. in any case deinterlacing is usually an option when you finally encode your video, so it shouldn't be that big of a deal.

Dazzle 150 is the best, but if i didnt have slight motion blurs in my film, or just motion showing up, i would have the best quality no doubt, i have a CC no one has lol, Kworld TV Magician Pro

*thg here, .amp. asked me to remove him from the site, but to avoid messing with the forum database I simply moved his post count down to zero.

Edit: changing the post count didn't work so I'm just going to leave it for now.*
