My first attempt at editing.... how did I do? - 10-31-2006, 05:00 PM

I grabbed an old Halo CE Montage from HaloPro.com and I messed with it, swapped the clips around, and added some of my own effects. I did this to practice editing for when I get my capture card. I am not in any way trying to take credit for this montage, IT IS NOT MINE.

I just want you guys to take a look at it. I know it's sloppy and poorly timed, and I went overboard on effects. There are a ton of wierd effects and stuff because I was just trying to get to use all the effects I could and learn the basics of video editing.

I edited using iMovie HD for Mac OSX.

Well, I haven't seen that montage in a while so I don't know how much you changed. Anyway...

A lot of A/V was off, but some was on.

Otherwise I have no idea what was going on other than a buncha clips... maybe you slowed some down or something but I have no idea.

Goat, what's A/V?

EDIT: If that means Audio/Video, then ya, I know. I wasn't really trying to time it with the music, just to play around with different effects. I only spent like 45 min on it anyway.

For some reason though, it got compressed a ton, and it made it really grainy and pixelated. What gives?

Well, maybe the mac program you are using is the equivalent to WMM. You can take perfect quality and when it renders in 'perfect' WMM quality you get my 2nd montage quality. There is probably a setting to get it better than whatever it is though, as the quality was bad even in a small screen.

Yeah, a/v is audio video or whatever. When there's an obvious beat you should have a kill. A lot of spots were missed, but I wouldn't have spent hours doing it for someone else's video LOL. I really didn't notice a lot of other effects in there.. almost like the screen flipped once like a book page.. and some slomo. Whatever... it's not like my first run with WMM was any better.

*thg here, .amp. asked me to remove him from the site, but to avoid messing with the forum database I simply moved his post count down to zero.

Edit: changing the post count didn't work so I'm just going to leave it for now.*
