perfect quality to WMV to AVI? - 10-31-2006, 07:06 PM

So I was messing around with some clips. Everything I render that I capture is saved in Vegas as 100% video quality WMV with interpolation deinterlacing (say that one at a party, chicks love that kinda $h1t). Then I took those WMV clips and rendered them in default AVI quality... and they appear to be better quality than the WMV... perhaps the same as the original mpeg they were saved as. Can anyone explain why WMV loses some quality but still holds it (if you know what I mean)? Maybe I just lost my mind?

the size of the file goes down, as does the quality, although the amount of quality loss might be less than the size of the file loss, it still goes down somewhat, i know my .avi and .wmv's are almost identical with this new quality im recording on

*thg here, .amp. asked me to remove him from the site, but to avoid messing with the forum database I simply moved his post count down to zero.

Edit: changing the post count didn't work so I'm just going to leave it for now.*
