360 controller problem????

Have any of you had problems with 360 controllers? I know a few people have had button problems I know I broke my x-button when I threw my controller against a wall one time, but im more interested in the mic part.
The bottom part where you plug the mic in comes loose it looks like or gets pulled down and gets all detatched and shit. Its really stupid you can't talk at all you have to hold your mic in. Do any of you guys know how to fix this, I think I will have to spend my superbowl earnings on gettting a new controller and I don't want to do that. If any of you could help I would really appreciate it.
