***Help*** I can't believe I am making this thread! - 03-21-2007, 06:48 PM

I can't believe that I am making this thread.

My 360 now displays everything in a "split screen" format. Kinda like when you are playing in split screen, except it happens on start up and on the dashboard. Please no "call 1-800-4my-xbox replies. All I want to know is, has anyone seen this?

I have heard of plenty of other issues before, but never this one. Nothing has been touched. I have not messed with the cables or slammed or caused the 360 any harm. I turned it on about 1/2 hour ago and that is when it happened. I refuse to call the support number as of right now. Anybody that has called it knows why.

Yes I have a warranty on it. I got the one from EB Games where "I can just walk in and get a new one with no questions asked." But I cannot do this until Friday afternoon at the earliest.

I am just wondering if anybody has heard of or seen this before. Thank you.

Check the back plug of the 360, maybe it got switched from ''HDTV'' to ''standard'' or whatever... or vis-versa if you don't use the composite cables and just use the standard RCA ones? Or move the 360 to another TV and try it there to see if maybe it's the TV? I dunno lol. When I tried to use HDTV on my 27'' POS that actually HAS Component inputs (what a waste of space those are)... my picture got all screwy and did sort of what you mention... but on other TV's it worked fine... I dunno?

I have an SDTV which has component inputs but is not HD so you can use the component 360 cables but you have to change the switch to regular TV or else you get teh screwyness.

I know that doesn't help you Midget.
