*Three Red Rings* (Problem Found?) - 01-05-2007, 08:12 AM

ok i was taking my xbox and moving it. but before i did that i pulled my phone charger out of the power strip that my xbox 360 was already plugged into. My xbox was already on when i pulled out the phone charger. As soon as i pulled the Phone charger out the sound of a 'click' and i little spark came from the outlet. when that happened my 360 flashed 3 red lights (some of you may know them as the "3 lights from hell") with one green light in the middle (basicly the on button)

when this happend i thought i was screwed because i knew of what happenes when the 3 red lights from hell come on, but all i did was reset my 360 and it was fine

this may not be new but i think that one of the causes of the 3 red light problems could come from a serge coming from the power outlet that you are using, and if the serge is bad enough then it can mess up your xbox so that it will not work

comment on what you have heard and if this happened to you (Folly?)

EDIT: my 360 still works if you didnt catch that so no need to worry im still in the game

I experienced those red things 3 times before my 360 broke.

Yeah, it should be fine until you screen doesn't show small parts of the picture and suddenly makes a "chhshhrhshhs" sound.

well i dont thing anything will happen i think it did hat because the brick went down because of the serge or something like that (knock on wood)

but what sucks for me is i bought my xbox almost 1 year ago, and this new warrantee will end in the next few days for me, but what i dont get is, the first 360s were the ones messing up but the warrantee basicly only applies to people who have bought 360 recently, so basicly microsoft is saying that since i bought one of the first ones i still have to pay $150 even though they messed up on their product... idk the system is still messed up greatly

You should hurry up and sign up for your extended warranty just in case it does take a shit on you. I think it was like 40 or 60 bucks.
