How does XBOX360's media center work? - 02-09-2006, 11:44 PM
What can you do with the media center? Can you put movies or music on the XBOX360 and play off of it?
Im getting skeptical about getting a XBOX360 because i'm thinking the PS3 will have a lot more and better features. The PS3 also supports "Next-Gen" media (Blu-Ray) while XBOX360 will have to settle for DL DVDs...I've also heard that PS3 will have a DVR included and a better online feature than XBOX Live. ![]()

There is no way that Sony will beat xbox live. But yes, the blue ray drive is pretty sweet...so is the HD drive that Micrsoft is planning to release for the 360. All i can say is Microsoft did not play it's true hand yet and still has many cards up their sleeves to beat out Sony when the PS3 hits. Right now, if anyone has been paying attention...most of the launch titles for PS3 are either nintendo or xbox knockoffs, with the exception of Metal Gear Solid.
As for the media center...The 36O'S media center interfaces with a computer that has windows media center installed on it. Media center is attatched to the OS of a computer...it is not very easy to install separately. It just makes your 360 able to play the videos, you have stored on your computer, on your TV as well as browse the media center channels of the net such as MTV overdrive and Comedy Central's Motherload. It's pretty sweet, if you have a Media Center edition PC i suggest you hook that bad boy up.

PS3 will not beat xbl for sheer numbers of players and decent online games. Most PS3 games will be single player games that have sort of adapted the online feature. Thats why H2, PDZ, PGR3 etc are so good online because they were desigend to be online from the start
